The team of Semat has started to work in the health care sector since 2014 under the umbrella of a multinational Egyptian trading company. The objective of the team was to create a profitable health division within the group with specialized skills serving the health care sector. Since its establishment, Semat has adopted a strategy of horizontal diversification within its domain, a strategy that resulted in the creation of a broad range of activities involving importation, distribution, export, joint manufacturing, and know how transfer. As the business grew in magnitude, the need to from a dedicated company was more pressing and hence the birth of Semat as specialized company in handling the group’s increasing share of the health care sector.
